It's belived they descend from a larger German Spitz dogs. The head of the Pomeranian is wedge-shaped, making it somewhat foxy in appearance. Pomeranians can be trained to be good watchdogs because of their vocal nature. Early training and socialization are necessary to prevent constant, undirected barking. Pomeranian dogs are easily adapt to life in the city, and also make an excellent dog for country living with their strong hunting instincts from their wild ancestors.
